Recap: Briarwood Christian Lions vs. Sylacauga Aggies
The Briarwood Christian Lions won the last time they faced the Sylacauga Aggies, and things went their way on Friday too. Briarwood Christian walked away with a 48-40 win over Sylacauga.
Several Aggies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Revish Bardwell, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. Bardwell is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Erick Oneal, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Briarwood Christian has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Sylacauga, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Briarwood Christian will head out on the road to face off against Pleasant Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pleasant Grove will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 281st, while Briarwood Christian is ranked 118th). Sylacauga won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Talladega at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th. Talladega is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
