Preview: Northwestern Wildcats vs. Bowie Bulldogs
Northwestern is 0-10 against Bowie since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Northwestern Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Bowie Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Northwestern sitting on three straight wins and Bowie on seven.
Last Thursday, Northwestern strolled past Bladensburg with points to spare, taking the game 46-28.
Bowie meant business on Thursday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Panthers squad that has allowed just 30 points per contest. Bowie enjoyed a cozy 62-46 win over Parkdale. Winning is a bit easier when you make five more threes than your opponent, as Bowie did.
Nylah Jennings and Amira Kittles were among the main playmakers for Bowie as the former scored 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds and the latter went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kittles has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sanaa Blunt, who scored four points.
Northwestern's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Bowie, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.
Northwestern took a serious blow against Bowie in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 66-12. Can Northwestern avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
