Baseball Recap: Junction City Dragons vs. Ouachita Warriors
Junction City lost against Ouachita back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Junction City Dragons fell just short of the Ouachita Warriors by a score of 8-7. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jaxon Temple put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Temple was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Justin Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. AJ Caldwell also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Junction City now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Ouachita, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 1-4 record.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Junction City will host Smackover at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ouachita, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Murfreesboro at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Murfreesboro will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Ouachita surely won't give up without a fight.
