Basketball Recap: Fort White's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Fort White's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Union County Fightin' Tigers by a score of 53-46. The victory was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Fort White's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tafari Moe, who posted 16 points and seven boards. Moe has been hot, having posted 16 or more points the last five times he's played. Jayden Jackspn was another key player, putting up 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Despite the loss, Union County still got an impressive performance from Gavin Jenkins, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Jenkins has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeppson Dang, who earned nine points.

Fort White's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9. As for Union County, they moved to 8-3 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Fort White has already played their next game, a 61-49 win against Middleburg on the 20th. As for Union County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-47 victory against Dixie County on the 23rd.
