Baseball Recap: Piedmont Victorious

After losing to Castro Valley the last time they met, Piedmont decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Highlanders narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Trojans 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Highlanders have posted against the Trojans since March 23, 2018.

Piedmont's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jack Meyjes, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Piedmont's record now sits at 13-6. As for Castro Valley, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-5 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piedmont will square off against Berkeley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Castro Valley, they will challenge Encinal at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
