Recap: Myrtle Hawks vs. Falkner Eagles
The Myrtle Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 11th straight loss. They took a hard 52-37 fall against Falkner. Myrtle has not had much luck with Falkner recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
It was another big night for Chris Nunley, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds for Falkner. That makes it three consecutive games in which Nunley has scored at least a third of Falkner's points. Elijah Mauney was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Myrtle has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 16 of their last 17 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-21 record this season. As for Falkner, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-13.
Myrtle will be playing in front of their home fans against Walnut at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Falkner, they will head out on the road to challenge Pine Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
