Recap: Lighthouse College Prep Academy Lions vs. Michigan City Wolves
After flying high against the Harlan Falcons last Thursday, the Lighthouse College Prep Academy Lions came back down to earth. Lighthouse College Prep Academy was beaten by Michigan City 78-44 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Lighthouse College Prep Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while Michigan City is ranked 94th).
Lighthouse College Prep Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Derek Scott, Jr, who scored 12 points along with four steals. Scott, Jr scored a full 27.3% of Lighthouse College Prep Academy's points, the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was DeQuan Jones, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Lighthouse College Prep Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Lighthouse College Prep Academy's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-6. As for Michigan City, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Lighthouse College Prep Academy will take on Lincoln-King Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Lincoln-King Academy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Michigan City, they will be playing at home against Crown Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
