Softball Game Preview: Asbury Rams vs. Douglas Eagles

Asbury hasn't had much luck against Douglas recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Asbury Rams are taking a road trip to challenge the Douglas Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Asbury has given up an average of 15.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Asbury is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They lost 11-1 to Valley Head. Rams fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Tigers since on Friday.

Meanwhile, Douglas has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging three runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against Boaz, falling 12-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since April 12, 2024.

Asbury's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Douglas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.

Asbury might still be hurting after the 22-0 loss they got from Douglas in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can Asbury avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
