Volleyball Recap: Fort Wayne Wayne Falls to Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian in First Game of Season

Fort Wayne Wayne kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Braves, falling 3-0. If the Generals were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Braves when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Fort Wayne Wayne took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22, 30-28.

Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian found their leader in sophomore Myllah Sommer, who had nine digs and three aces. Sommer has been hot, having also posted 15 or more assists the last six times she's played.

Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian now has a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Fort Wayne Wayne will welcome New Haven at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The Generals are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
