It was a good run, but Brunswick unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Lakeside Panthers. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-15.

Dayea Matocha was the offensive standout of the game as she had 14 assists and four aces. Those four aces gave her a new career-high. Allie Jost also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Brunswick's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Lakeside, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Coming up, Brunswick will take on Camden County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakeside, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Harlem at 5:00 p.m. on the 26th.
