Volleyball Game Preview: St. Francis DeSales Stallions vs. Westerville South Wildcats

The St. Francis DeSales Stallions will venture away from home to take on the Westerville South Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, St. Francis DeSales turned things around against Bishop Watterson last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1.

The win didn't come easy: Bishop Watterson scored at least 23 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Westerville South was able to grind out a solid victory over Dublin Scioto on Tuesday, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Westerville South had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-21, 25-13, 25-18.

St. Francis DeSales' win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Westerville South, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

St. Francis DeSales came out on top in a nail-biter against Westerville South in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Stallions since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
