Basketball Recap: Pinnacle Classical Academy Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pinnacle Classical Academy can now relate to. They fell 53-40 to the Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors on Thursday. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raptors earlier this season, when they won 43-41.

When it comes to explaining why Pinnacle Classical Academy lost, don't look at Cody Humphries. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds. That's the most points Humphries has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Gentry, who earned 13 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Pinnacle Classical Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Lure Classical Academy only pulled down three offensive boards.

D Watkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lake Lure Classical Academy, going 8-for-11 en route to 19 points and six assists. Ashawn Camp was another key player, going 6-for-12 to rack up 16 points.

Pinnacle Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Lake Lure Classical Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11.
