Baseball Game Preview: Silverdale Academy Seahawks vs. Arnold Marlins

The Silverdale Academy Seahawks are taking a road trip to square off against the Arnold Marlins at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Silverdale Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Sneads on Tuesday as Silverdale Academy made off with a 17-3 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Seahawks with their most commanding win of the season.

Silverdale Academy let Gavin Brock and Brayden Melton run wild. Brock scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Melton scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Bennet Reagan also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Arnold sidestepped Marianna for a 2-1 victory. That's two games straight that the Marlins have won by just one run.

Arnold also got a great performance from Jackson Ross as he struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Josh Lindsey, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February.

Arnold hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marianna struck out eight times.

Arnold's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Silverdale Academy, their record now sits at 4-2.
