Basketball Game Preview: Onaga Buffaloes vs. Frankfort Wildcats

Onaga is 1-9 against Frankfort since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Onaga Buffaloes will head out on the road to take on the Frankfort Wildcats at 4:45 p.m.

Onaga is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Clifton-Clyde, falling 47-22. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Eagles are ranked 126th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Tristan Kuhlman, who posted six points and six boards. Those six rebounds gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Casen Hutfles, who scored seven points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, Frankfort entered their tilt with Washington County on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 70-41 win over the Tigers. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 25 points or more this season.

Frankfort has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points per game. As for Onaga, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Onaga took a serious blow against Frankfort in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 63-35. Can Onaga avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
