After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four contests, Mifflinburg finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Midd-West Mustangs by a score of 1-0. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Taylor Stewart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Mifflinburg's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Midd-West, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mifflinburg will take on Lewisburg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Midd-West, they will face off against Troy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
