Softball Recap: Franklin Road Academy Extends Winning Streak to Four

Franklin Road Academy barely beat Middle Tennessee Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Franklin Road Academy put the hurt on Middle Tennessee Christian with a sharp 7-1 win on Friday. The Panthers' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Millie Pardue spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Franklin Road Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Gadsey, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base was Gadsey's first of the season. Marjorie Clark was another, going 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Franklin Road Academy pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Franklin Road Academy will head out on the road to square off against Father Ryan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, they will challenge Gibson Southern at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
