The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Yellowjackets last Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Ty Yates, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of William Muller, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, West Point fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Thomas Jefferson on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 13-10 to the Vikings. The defeat leaves the Pointers still looking for their first win of the season.

West Point saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylan Stanley, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and four RBI. Another was Jake Atkins, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

West Point's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Bruton, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-6.
