Basketball Game Preview: Toombs County Bulldogs vs. Savannah Country Day Hornets

The Toombs County Bulldogs will square off against the Savannah Country Day Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Toombs County has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight losses, while Savannah Country Day will come in with six straight victories.

Toombs County is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2024 on Saturday. They were beaten by Tattnall County 50-21. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 444th, while the Warriors are ranked 150th).

Taylor Bland was Toombs County's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Brinley Miller held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. Makenna Gardisser took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Meanwhile, Savannah Country Day made easy work of Savannah Christian on Tuesday and carried off a 54-29 win. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 25 points or more this season.

Toombs County's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Savannah Country Day, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
