Softball Game Preview: Fairfield Union Falcons vs. Circleville Tigers

Fairfield Union hasn't had much luck against Circleville recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Falcons will challenge the Tigers at 5:15 p.m. Fairfield Union has given up an average of 11.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Fairfield Union after they put the first runs on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 11-1 to Lakewood. The match marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Circleville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Sheridan, falling 13-5.

Kaylee West and Claire Davis stepped up to the plate in a big way. West scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Davis scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Audrey Cowdery also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Fairfield Union's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Circleville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Fairfield Union suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Circleville when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
