Baseball Game Preview: Griswold Wolverines vs. Ellington Knights

The Griswold Wolverines will head out on the road to take on the Ellington Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Griswold is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy 10-2.

Meanwhile, Ellington had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Rocky Hill with a sharp 10-4 win on Monday. Considering the Knights have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Dylan Killoran and Jaxson Dumond did most of the damage at the plate: Killoran went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Dumond got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Dumond has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Liam Hebert, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Ellington's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Griswold, their win bumped their record up to 8-11.

Griswold suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Ellington in their previous matchup back in June of 2025. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
