Basketball Game Preview: Starkville Yellowjackets vs. Clinton Arrows

The Starkville Yellowjackets will face off against the Clinton Arrows at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Starkville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Germantown, who was ranked second at the time (Starkville was ranked third). Starkville took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Germantown. The Yellowjackets' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Clinton escaped with a win on Friday against Tupelo by the margin of a single free throw, 54-53.

Clinton's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Starkville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-4.

Starkville didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Clinton when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 75-69 win. Will Starkville repeat their success, or does Clinton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
