Softball Recap: Mira Mesa's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

While Mira Mesa's win against West Hills wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Marauders skirted past the Wolf Pack 4-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Marauders also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Brooklyn Haug spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Mira Mesa saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carla Murguia, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Mira Mesa's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11. As for West Hills, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mira Mesa will venture away from home to challenge Scripps Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Marauders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for West Hills, they will head out to take on Santana at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Sultans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Wolf Pack's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
