Volleyball Recap: Key West Conchs vs. Wellington Wolverines

Key West was the 2-1 winner over Wellington when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Conchs fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The Conchs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Key West sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-14, 16-25, 15-10.

Audrey Smith paced Key West's offense, picking up eight kills. Smith got some help from Molly McKnight and her 11 assists. Gabriella Pichardo controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Isabella Mariani, who had seven digs and three aces. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more aces the last three times she's played.

Key West's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Wellington, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2.
