Baseball Game Preview: Northwest Guilford Vikings vs. Ragsdale Tigers

The Northwest Guilford Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Ragsdale Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Northwest Guilford came into this matchup off a tough six-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Southwest Guilford by a score of 8-6 on Friday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Northwest Guilford saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Gentrup, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Ragsdale entered their tilt with Western Guilford on Friday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 17-8 win. Considering the Tigers have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ragsdale pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Northwest Guilford, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Northwest Guilford couldn't quite get it done against Ragsdale in their previous matchup on April 4th as they fell 7-2. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
