Baseball Recap: Tamalpais Extends Winning Streak to Four

Tamalpais waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Alameda Hornets by a score of 7-3. That's two games straight that the Red Tailed Hawks have won by exactly four runs.

Scott Olinger looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ryan Simon, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Timo Ural, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Tamalpais' record is now 6-2. As for Alameda, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Tamalpais will take on Marin Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Tamalpais 2.6, Marin Catholic 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Alameda, they will face off against Campolindo at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
