Softball Recap: Mars Takes a Loss

After flying high against Penn Hills on Thursday, Mars came back down to earth. The Fightin' Planets lost 15-3 to the North Hills Indians on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Fightin' Planets in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost eight in a row.

Sophia Soltis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Allie Walukiewicz, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Mars' loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for North Hills, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Mars will face off against New Castle at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Hills, they will take on Fox Chapel at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
