Softball Recap: Beloit Memorial Takes a Loss

After flying high against Martin Luther on Monday, Beloit Memorial came back down to earth. The Purple Knights lost 16-3 to the Union Grove Broncos on Tuesday. The Purple Knights have struggled against the Broncos recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Jasmine Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Beloit Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Union Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Beloit Memorial will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Janesville Parker at 4:30 p.m. Union Grove will be paying especially close attention to the Purple Knights' matchup: after the Purple Knights face off against the Vikings, they'll take on Union Grove again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
