League recap: Osuna races to league-leading run for Holtville

Josh Osuna of Holtville ran for the longest rushing play in Manzanita this season against Desert Mirage last week. Osuna scampered for 76 yards on the play and finished with 146 on the day as his team bested Desert Mirage.

Holtville was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. Earlier in the week, Keith Smith's team triumphed over Jeffrey Tebelak's team 41-0.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Vincent Memorial's DANIEL PALMA and ALEJANDRO GARCIA have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-11 quarterback PALMA has thrown for 297 yards this season, while GARCIA has 7 catches for 139 yards. The Vikings' Clayton Bowler leads the league in rushing yards with 265.

Crawford moved up to 692 from 857 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Manzanita. The Colts were able to make move up by defeating Horizon 39-23.
