Softball Recap: Sioux Falls Christian Takes Down Ranked Gayville-Volin

Sioux Falls Christian faced Gayville-Volin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Chargers had just enough and edged out the Raiders 6-5.

Kate Preheim was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia O'Neil, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Sioux Falls Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gayville-Volin only posted a batting average of .167.

The win got Sioux Falls Christian back to even at 7-7. As for Gayville-Volin, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sioux Falls Christian will host Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gayville-Volin, they will face off against McCook Central/Montrose at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
