Basketball Recap: Chapelgate Christian Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jonah Ludwig and Justin Davis

Chapelgate Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 66-51 bruising from Gerstell Academy. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Gerstell Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-50 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Chapelgate Christian Academy had strong showings from Justin Davis, who posted 12 points, and Jonah Ludwig, who went 5-for-7 on his way to 11 points. What's more, Ludwig also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Paul Ayivor was another key player, putting up eight points.

Chapelgate Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-20. As for Gerstell Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Coming up, Chapelgate Christian Academy will challenge Concordia Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gerstell Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against St. Paul's at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Paul's has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
