 The East Allegheny Wild Cats will head out on the road to  take on  the South Allegheny Gladiators at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The pair have allowed few  runs on average, (East Allegheny: 3.8, South Allegheny: 3.9) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
 East Allegheny took a loss when they played away from home  on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  2-1  victory over Freeport.
  Michael Cahill was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  struck out 14 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits (and only one walk). Cahill has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in eight consecutive pitching appearances. Cahill was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.
 Cahill wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Joseph Connors, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Meanwhile, South Allegheny made easy work of Brentwood  on Wednesday and carried off  a  7-1 win.
 East Allegheny pushed their record up to 11-6 with that  victory, which was their third straight  at home. As for South Allegheny, their record now sits at 9-2.
 East Allegheny couldn't quite finish off South Allegheny when the teams last played  back in April of 2023 and fell  2-0. Can East Allegheny avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
