Whittier Christian had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 13-9 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Village Christian Crusaders. The Heralds have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Crusaders, too.

Terry Han looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zion Park, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Eli Echavarria, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Whittier Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Village Christian struck out nine times.

As for Village Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 4.6 runs.

On Village Christian's side, Dallas Young made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. The Crusaders are 4-2 when Young posts two or more runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Ryan French was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Village Christian beat Whittier Christian by a score of 1-0 on Friday.
