Recap: Friends' Central vs. Academy of the New Church Lions
It was a good run, but Friends' Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to Academy of the New Church on the road by a decisive 64-50 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Friends' Central has scored all season.
Friends' Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fazl Oshodi, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Oshodi continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Reid Belcher, who scored ten points along with four steals.
It was another big night for Bahsil Laster, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six assists for Academy of the New Church. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Smith, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Friends' Central's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Academy of the New Church, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.
Friends' Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Academy of the New Church also has no future games currently scheduled.
