East Lincoln faced Porter Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Mustangs took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates. The loss put an end to East Lincoln's undefeated start to the season.

Miles Hart and Evan Blackley scored both of East Lincoln's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Having lost for the first time this season, East Lincoln fell to 2-1. As for Porter Ridge, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

East Lincoln has already played their next matchup, a 4-3 victory against Dixon on the 22nd. As for Porter Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 5-0 win against Parkwood on the 21st.
