Basketball Recap: Ayala Takes a Loss

Ayala lost against Walnut on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Ayala Bulldogs took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Walnut Mustangs. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Walnut to victory were Nathan Yen and Chico Chungcharoenpanich. Yen went 7 of 17 en route to 19 points, while Chungcharoenpanich went 8 for 11 on his way to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Chungcharoenpanich a new career-high. Kiko Guevara was another key player, putting up eight points.

Ayala's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Walnut, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7.

Ayala has already played their next matchup (against Grand Terrace), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Walnut is taking a road trip to face off against Bonita at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
