Baseball Recap: Hampshire Gets the Win

While Hampshire didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Whites Creek Cobras by a score of 12-8 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Hampshire got a massive performance out of Kasen Anderson, who scored two runs and stole six bases while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Anderson a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Cameron Marrisett, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Hampshire always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hampshire's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Whites Creek, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampshire will head out to face off against Fayetteville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Whites Creek, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Stratford at 4:30 p.m. on April 7.
