Softball Recap: Cross Trojans vs. Lowcountry Leadership NaviGators
Sadly, Cross is still looking for their first win of the season after five contests. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 17-0 walloping at the hands of the Lowcountry Leadership NaviGators on Monday. That's two games in a row now that Cross has lost by exactly 17 runs.
For Lowcountry Leadership's part, Nicole Galloway was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Galloway has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts every time she's pitched this season. Galloway was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-3 with three RBI and a double.
In other batting news, Bailee Blome was incredible, going 2-for-2 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Halie Early, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Lowcountry Leadership, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
