Basketball Recap: Moore Catholic Takes a Loss

Moore Catholic lost against Fordham Prep back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Moore Catholic Mavericks fell 63-54 to the Fordham Prep Rams. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fordham Prep was led to victory by Brian Kapfer and Dylan McElhatton. Kapfer went 10 for 24 en route to 24 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks, while McElhatton went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points along with seven boards and six assists. Kapfer's afternoon made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Matthew Herlick was another key player, putting up seven points along with six assists and five boards.

Moore Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Fordham Prep, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.

Moore Catholic has already played their next matchup (against Xavier), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Fordham Prep will host Stevenson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fordham Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Stevenson likes a good challenge.
