Baseball Game Preview: Grace Christian School Kings vs. The Carmel School Wildcats

The Grace Christian School Kings will take on The Carmel School Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Grace Christian School has three straight victories, The Carmel School has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Grace Christian School is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Richmond Christian with a sharp 15-4 win on Thursday. The Kings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Grant Boucher made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Boucher was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

In other batting news, Andrew Whittington was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trice Redmon, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Grace Christian School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Richmond Christian only posted an OBP of .360.

Meanwhile, The Carmel School lost 14-7 to The New Community School on Thursday.

Grace Christian School pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for The Carmel School, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Grace Christian School took their victory against The Carmel School when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Kings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
