Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only West Greene walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets 4-3. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 7-4 win back in April.

Payton Gilbert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits.

At the plate, West Greene's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kendra Tharp, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

West Greene's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Jefferson-Morgan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.

As of now, neither West Greene nor the Rockets have any future games scheduled.
