Somersworth faced Kingswood in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Toppers walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Knights. The Toppers haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

The victory didn't come easy: Kingswood scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-18, 19-25, 27-25.

Emily Runions paced Somersworth's offense, picking up nine kills. Runions got some help from Kylie Pettengill and her 22 assists. Finally, Paige Demers kept Somersworth's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Somersworth's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Kingswood, their loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3.
