Football Recap: Jarrell Extends Winning Streak to Five

Jarrell hadn't done well against Llano recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cougars came out on top against the Yellowjackets by a score of 40-29. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 571st, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 235th).

Llano's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jose Sillas, who gained 79 total yards and two touchdowns, and Luke Davis, who rushed for seven yards and two scores. Sillas is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

The win keeps Jarrell at an undefeated 4-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 28.4 points thus far. As for Llano, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, Jarrell will be playing at home against Smithville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Cougars' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Llano, they will head out on the road to face off against Comfort at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will need to watch out since the Bobcats/Deer have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
