Basketball Game Preview: Eagle Mustangs vs. Rigby Trojans

The Eagle Mustangs will face off against the Rigby Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Eagle is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Borah just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to the Lions 50-45. The contest marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rigby). They blew past Canyon Ridge 78-19 two weeks ago. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Rigby pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Eagle, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.

Eagle beat Rigby 44-35 in their previous matchup back in January of 2020. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eagle since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
