Softball Preview: Nemo Vista Red Hawks vs. Perryville Mustangs
The Nemo Vista Red Hawks will venture away from home to challenge the Perryville Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Nemo Vista is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Bigelow on Monday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Red Hawks have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.
Meanwhile, Perryville put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Danville get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The Mustangs' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.
Ainsley Tippen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Tippen was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
