Softball Game Preview: Southwind Jaguars vs. Whitehaven Tigers

The Southwind Jaguars will venture away from home to challenge the Whitehaven Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southwind has given up an average of 15.5 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Southwind came into their game two weeks ago off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 19-9 to Hillcrest. It was the first time this season that the Jaguars let down their fans at home.

Meanwhile, Whitehaven had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Chiefs with a sharp 14-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Whitehaven's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Southwind, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Southwind came up short against Whitehaven in their previous matchup back in April of 2022, falling 12-8. Can the Jaguars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
