Basketball Recap: Andrea Hardy's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Friendly over Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North

After flying high against Central last Thursday, Friendly came back down to earth. The Friendly Patriots received a blow on Friday as they fell 42-28 to the Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North Tigers. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 27-22.

Friendly's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrea Hardy, who posted nine points along with six boards and six steals. Hardy has become a key player for Friendly: the team is 6-1 when she posts at least three steals, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Germany, who earned ten points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Friendly has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season. As for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Friendly will face off against Potomac at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Friendly is facing Potomac at the right time seeing as Potomac is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North, they will be playing at home against Surrattsville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North has lost three straight at home and Surrattsville four straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
