Basketball Game Preview: Payson Lions vs. Bountiful Redhawks + Official Tickets

The Payson Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Bountiful Redhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Payson managed to slip by Lehi the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lions lost 52-31 to the Pioneers last Tuesday.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Emmy Hales, who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. Hales is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Abbie Rowley, who earned eight points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Bountiful escaped with a win on Tuesday against Fremont by the margin of a single free throw, 42-41. The victory continues a trend for the Redhawks in their matchups with the Silverwolves: they've now won four in a row.

Bountiful's win came from a few key players Payson will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Maleah Nelson, who had 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maile Murdock, who put up 12 points.

Payson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bountiful, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
