After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lincoln County, GV Christian was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lake Mead Christian Academy Eagles, sneaking past 31-29. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Guardians have posted since January 10, 2025.

GV Christian had a senior duo take command as Crystal Topacio posted 15 points and four steals and Alyssa Bound-Ybarra almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Topacio has scored at least a third of the Guardians' points.

When it comes to explaining why Lake Mead Christian Academy lost, don't look at Davina Fernandez-Guillen. Despite the final result, she put up 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Savannah Harfield, who had six points in addition to 12 boards and three blocks.

GV Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Lake Mead Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

GV Christian has already played their next matchup, a 47-18 victory against Founders Classical Academy on the 14th. As for Lake Mead Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Laughlin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
