Preview: Charleston Tigers vs. Walnut Wildcats
The Charleston Tigers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Walnut Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Charleston has four straight victories, Walnut has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, Charleston didn't have too much trouble with Leflore County on the road as they won 32-14. 32 seems to be a good number for Charleston as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Charleston found their leader in underclassman Marcus Flowers jr, who rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns. Flowers jr hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games.
Meanwhile, Walnut was the victim of a rough 44-22 loss at the hands of East Union on Thursday.
Charleston's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Walnut, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-7.
