Basketball Recap: Mt. Zion Piles Up the Points Against Utopian Academy for the Arts

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Zion). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Utopian Academy for the Arts 70-40. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Bulldogs with their most commanding win of the season.

Harlen 'Hawk' Graham had another great game (as he tends to do), shooting 64% from the field on his way to 18 points in addition to six boards and four steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Maxwell Henry was another key player, going 5-for-7 en route to 12 points and four steals.

Mt. Zion was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They are 2-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

When it comes to explaining why Utopian Academy for the Arts lost, don't look at Quevion Johnson. Despite the final result, he shot 42% from the field to rack up 15 points. Another player making a difference was Denvah Jones, who posted four points.

The victory made it two in a row for Mt. Zion and bumps their season record up to 3-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points over those games. As for Utopian Academy for the Arts, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
